Well, dont know where to start.

If the price of R780 inc vat a month for this offering is out of your budget, stop reading now ;) if not, take a moment to read about it.

I have been on isoftnet uncapped adsl for a week now and up to now, its been performing exactly like 3gig/5gig/10gig/20gig/30gig adsl isp account. Except, no cap, yep I have been drowing the line with whatever I need to get done and no hickups.

Yes its shaped, just like every other adsl isp account from saix. P2P works like a charm, international gaming works exactly like it would with current saix isp accounts.

Helpfull bunch of people aswell, userstats for those interested can be viewed at userstats.adsl.saix.net except you can just look at how your scoring all the way.

No contracts, no fuzz and they even let me have a few days end of last month for free since I started to pay from this month.

So far Im very happy, and dont have any complaints :)

Head over to www.isoftnet.co.za if the price is right and your requirement is uncapped.

Seems like these guys are really clued up on the backend, hey.. they even manage their own radius server into the saix cloud.

Telkom's saposed to install my line on monday, well we all know they are reliable . Anyways this is extremely good news since i've been looking at ISoft as my isp and uncapped saix style performance was excactly what i was looking for. :D :D

Clipse, so is this the first SAIX uncapped offering, i thought SAIX and or Telkom was not going to allow uncapped offerings on the SAIX backbone. Can you confirm that this is on SAIX ?

Swazi - Yep, I can confirm its saix, and it seems to be the first uncapped saix offering, managed directly via their radius server.

Wow! Sounds too good to be true! Is the sign up process simple? What is the minimum contract period?

yeah I'd also be curious to hear what their various contract/payment offerings are - seeing as - when my adsl+p2p are working - I seem to be able to download around 60 gigs a month on average, for total happiness. Currently that'll set me back (isp charges around R570 x2) so R780 unshaped uncapped, sounds like a money saver - depending on whether these guys are decent with their setup/payment methods.. (being able to go month to month doing cash deposit and no being locked into contract is a major thing)

EDIT: I sent them mail, asking re payment methods and confirming unshaped p2p usage. It'll be a serious plus if they go on month to month without contracts. Soon as they reply, I'll post info.

no contracts, except you can pay 1,6 or 12 months in advance, same price per month.

So in case of contracts, just pay month to month and when you dont want to use it anymore, give 1 month notice

edit: my original post of this topic allready covered the no-contract, dont you guys ready? I also said it is shaped just like saix.

Got mail back from them, saying the scary thing "We only accept debit orders and we have no contract. We do no shaping.and all traffic is equal."
Hmm, I'm not a fan of giving companies access to my bank account..

But, worst case scenario - should it turn out that Axxess has had its p2p bandwidth deliberately throttled by Telkom/Saix - will it mean that - if I go with these guys, that the bandwidth they're offering is genuinely unthrottled as far as p2p goes? I mean, these guys are in effect 'official' Telkom/Saix b/w?
I don't want to move from one ISP, to another that might potentially have the same problem of Telkom's protocol blackmail..
(Sorry, I'm not clued up on b/w flow to fully get exactly what 'shaped like saix' means in reality)

LoneGunman - the accounts are shaped just like saix, you get the same international gaming and the same downloads via torrents. Perhaps they meant no shaping locally, as that is the affect with normal saix accounts aswell.

In reality, if your getting some weird ass slow downloads on your saix account, it will be the same on this. I have not gotten crappy p2p/torrents on any saix accounts yet, and neither on this. Big plus here, uncapped. :)

Also Ive been chatting to the sys admin, managing just about everything, down to earth oke and pleasant to talk to. Also, he knows a heap load more than any Telkom or other ISP who I dealt with in the past, would ever know :)

So if the accounts are shapped exactly the same as the rest of the SAIX accounts will you be able to download enough to make it worthwhile? I cant even see myself needing a 30gb account for much longer if things stay the way they are.

yes.. your issue and others reporting slow speeds on saix is strange, because Ive never experienced slow p2p/torrents on anything saix, including this.

No problems here either. Used a test Isoftnet uncapped account last week for a day, and it was great. Full speeds, up and down.

lonegunman remember if someone puts something through your account and you dont want just phone and reverse then put a stop on said amount

yeah killadoob, I know that one, thanks to being with sentech and iburst previously..

re the slow speeds, its seriously like below dialup modem speeds - so I guess its time to try another ISP, and see if there's a radical difference in available b/w - for dc++ mainly..
If so, then I'll sign up immediately. Might well ask isoftnet if I can do a test tryout - not gonna sign up with someone else if there's no improvement in the area's where I need it.

LoneGunman im sure they will let u have a test go at it, their openminded blokes :) and ready for business.

I got my dsl installed today, on a Isoft test account, and its humming sweeetly :D
