Hey guys,

I'm interested to find out if anyone out there who knows of an ISP with a better back-end client interface than WebAfrica for managing single/multiple ADSL accounts.

About a year and a bit ago, I made the decision to go with WebAfrica as an ISP, the decision for me was based on the fact that their ADSL Client Backend would assist me in troubleshooting and fault finding, without having to be on-site. As a trial, I signed up around 20 or so home ADSL accounts.

Since all these customers required was reliable access to a single secured website and email, a home solution would be sufficient. I spoke to WebAfrica and they confirmed there was no shaping on secured websites. (If anyone knows for a fact this has changed please let me know.)

What impressed me most about WebAfrica was their Backend system. I could:

- could see all my services(ADSL accounts) displayed on a dashboard (the newly revised dashboard is just crap in my opinion)
- immediately top up a customer if he reached his cap - no router restart or ADSL user accounts changes required
- monitor usage statistics by the hour and day, which also included a nice month summary overview
- monitor connection history (good for troubleshooting physical line issues)
- displays which telkom land line has connected using your ADSL account (good for when someone steals your account details)
- monitor the IP assigned to a specific ADSL account/router (which helps with remote access issues when DYNDNS doesn't play along with the router)
- can change/reset ADSL account passwords easily
- notifications, email accounts and other information can be configured from directly from this panel

I'm interested in finding out if anyone has hands-on experience with another ISP's backend interface with the same feature set? I'm looking to sign-up a few more ADSL accounts, but I don't want to be restricted to just one choice. To be honest, I'll probably be moving away from WebAfrica soon, so it's more of a question of when than who.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Cheers

Griff.
