ISP help

I know these questions are posted all the time but I really can't find current information on what I am looking for.

I am looking for an ADSL that allows mild online gaming and probably needs around 10Gb a month from various file sharing download sites.ie. rapidshare or peer to peer etc. I am at work all day so max I would download a month is say 20Gb.

I don't really want to spend more than R600 or so a month on line rental and ISP.

I am having a telephone line installed.

Would I be better off going for an uncapped line from mweb:

- Either the unshaped 384kbps line
- Else the shaped 512kbps line

Would either of these packages be viable for my needs or do I need to look at something like a 10Gb capped account?

What sort of usage do you have to get through before you start being shaped on the 512 line uncapped shaped.

Sorry for all this, I am just a bit clueless here

Depends on how shaped it is. For your usage the uncapped unshapped accounts from IS are great. It's unshaped so good pings and 10gigs is really low usage. Oh and go 512. 512 has double the upload of 384 and it really makes a difference.

512 is definitely better for gaming ect.

As the other user stated the upload speed increase on 512 makes a world of a difference.



I would suggest however avoiding the uncapped packages and mebe going for a high cap package.
