ISP is canceling wireless to our area

Hey friends

I woke up this morning to an email from Amobia saying they deeply regret having to inform us that due to changing infrastructure they will no longer be providing wireless coverage to our area (Melkbosstrand, Cape Town). We have 1 month to find a new ISP - we work from home so it's kind of a rude bolt from the blue.

We went the wireless route as we stay on a smallholding that is just out of the way of the fibre that was recently laid here so we will need to find a new ISP that offers wireless.

Does anyone have any recommendations? We are currently paying R704 for an 8/2 line and would prefer not to spend too much more than that.

Get the 10/1 uncapped ADSL for around R600 from Vox/Afrihost. If no ADSL lines then go Fixed LTE with Axxess for 150Gb at R799 (on MTN network).

So we have no line for ADSL and 150GB ain't gonna cut it. I suppose we are just going to have to bite the bullet and shuck out an extra couple of hundred a month for a decent wireless line.

You can also trial Supersonic's R999 Uncapped deal if that's still comfortably in your budget, you're more likely to get great speeds especially when equipped with a B618 router, but you need to note that you may get poor speeds to international servers, especially in peak times, without a proxy of some sort, and there's a small chance a FUP could be introduced in the coming months which may be unfortunate (something along the lines of 300GB if that happens).

Apologies that I can't recommend any Wireless services personally, I've only tried three (two national, one local) and the experience was always abysmal and expensive to setup

I doubt 300GB would be applied to MTN's uncapped. If they're consistent at all, it would probably be 1TB since you can buy 1TB for 999 from them.

Telkom has a 300GB FUP, but then their uncapped LTE is R529 pm, not 999

I would also echo @Crumbl0x 's suggestion to go for MTN. They generally have a good network in most places and for now, it's the best uncapped LTE product you can get.
