ISP Mambo

Does it make a difference what isp you use, coz, i *might* (touch wood) get dsl after a long discussion and talking with my dad, so..... anwho, im @ a hostel som only some weekends I'm @ home, but i'll kill 2gb bandwith easy so... would it make a diff in performance if I take eg Hyperdsl, or saol or axxess? Just wondering and if anyone has experience with any of them can you tell me if they have a good service, etc?

Any of the providers you mention will give you an acceptable ADSL service (within the bounds of the stupid constraints we're all subject to, of course) - just don't use TelkomInternet. Your price will vary, depending on the package offering you want. I use Axxess and am very satisfied with the service.

You mentioned 'Mambo' in your post title, which I don't quite follow. If it is your intention to run a Mambo website which you want to host somewhere, this does not have to depend on what ADSL service provider you use - you can host it anywhere, as long as the hosting company provides a PHP and MySQL facility, which is all that Mambo needs. I use Dataspace as my website hosting provider, and have had excellent service from them. They have a 20Mb free package offering, which is enough for a limited Mambo site. Trust this assists...

NOthing bout Mambo, just wanted to make interesting Topic Title, so... thanks, why not TelkomInternet? Except for the fact that they are more expensive, most of the people I've seen playing have a freaking good ping, so... Thanks,

telkom sucks full stop! Rather give ure business to another company. Axxess etc buy there aount staight from saix so there will be no difference in ping because of the ISP

The isp you mentioned resell saix account so you will get the same ping with telkominternet, access, web africa etc. The reason for not giving your business to telkominternet is really only to not show support for the monopoly and at least the isp's will recieve a small profit margin as opposed to telkom.
