Alot of competitive new offerings have recently entered the adsl market, many hitting some serious speed bumps straight out. Some time has now passed however, and I ask for everyone's current opinions on the various offers out there.
The uncapped services that are affordable are,
SAOL
Digichilli
Screamer
Axxess
Cybersmart
Imagine IPS
Openweb
Each have their disadvantages, such as rolling windows, heavy shaping, the line migration issue or higher costs.
The biggest issue with the more competitive offerings however has been stability.
Capped alternatives to these are,
Gconnect
Afrihost
WebAfrica
Let me know if I missed any.
So how do all of these currently rate?
My main criteria are as follows.
As said stability has been as issue, and in my opinion if a offering is very unstable, it cant even really be considered internet. Always on or nothing. This is an important question regarding many of the new entrants. Have speeds stabilized?
Another important consideration for me is latency, of course closely related to stability. I need a service that I can game on consistently.
Do any of these services deliver on this? What other cons do they suffer from?
Thanks in advance for your comments.
