Anyone know if ISP's going to be selling WiMAX accounts soon? Telkom is almost done testing. Got a price from them today regarding the monthly costs. R420 p/m for a 512kb connection. Any idea on what the costs will be per gig? Same as ADSL?

So it was YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :p been testing their WiMax all this time and not telling us about it :p:p

Im pretty convinced Wi-Max will be a one price deal seeing as Telkom are doing their own and Mweb are doing their own trials too. Mweb being an ISP would usually resell the Telkom service and provide the cap but that doesn't seem to be the case this time.

So for Telkom Wimax it would probably only be TelkomISP and Mweb with Mweb and so forth. However I could be totally wrong with this assumption, and we all know what assuming is :)

R420 p/m? If thats the monthly rate, there'll be ISP costs as well!?
Or does that include 3gigs?:p

Where'd u get ur info from by the way? :) We must go get more

R420 is just for the "line rental". R470 includes 1 Gig. If thats the only option you have, then thats not too bad I guess. A 512KB ADSL is about R390 now anyway, without any gigs. So its really not that bad.

I disagree. One does not need any type of cable infrastructure and maintenance in place for a wireless connection. I think that fact alone should afford WiMax the opportunity to out price DSL.

So I don't like the price :(
