Would really appreciate some advice please!

I have a 20mb fibre contract with telkom, comes with a "uncapped" account which throttles after 100 GB so basically it's useless. I use this until it's capped then switch over to another account with another ISP where I pay R400 +-for 400 GB a month, sometimes I mange to get to the end of the month, sometimes not. Have to top up, another R250 here and there and it's starting to annoy me and cost a packet.

Youtube and Netflix are the killers here as I have 4 x devices streaming at any given time.

Please help! :crying: o_O

I think OP is locked into a contract with Telkom, so can't move.

Best is to upgrade Telkom to uncapped or buy out the contract and switch.

It's the same process as their other products. You notify them of the cancellation and pay your last bill.

It's not exactly painful, but they did not have a mechanism in place to confirm my cancellation when I did it. So I had to phone the call centre a few times to ask whether the cancellation had been processed. It took a while.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I am in a contract and to be honest I am pretty happy with the service I have received from Telkom, even when my line went down they sorted it out instantly. Thinking of getting a open web uncapped premium account and dumping my capped account, works out R100 more and clearly states they do not cap no matter how much you download. Well lets see.

Have a look at the OpenWeb feedback thread before you do that. It's a slaughter. I would not touch those okes with someone else's 10 foot pole.

Have you been living under a rock?

I would rather have no internet than use openweb again.

Although having issues with online gaming atm using Vuma and Cool Ideas (busy dealing with PBCool) I would recommend Cool Ideas as well. Very active in helping with issues, and there is a ton of users whose never had a single issue with them.

Just stay far away from Afrihost as well, biggest mistake you will ever make.

If you are on Openserve then I would look at Level 7 too. Always had really good service on my Openserve line with them

Great thanks for the heads up, will steer clear.

Hehe, I do believe so.

Haha! Ok, definitely not touching them.
