Hi

Really a question to all the ISP's who have their special hours midnight to 6am. From what I gather telkom collects the information on the session and submits it to you at intervals but considering on say a 20mbit line you can download 4.5GB in 30 minutes what happens when the clock ticks over ?

Is it possible for pre-6am data to leak over ?
Do you recommend a earlier scheduled download stop to be safe ?

Thanks in advance

All your data goes through the ISP, they log you with that. Back in the day they used the Telkom logs but not anymore.

In the thread "Afrihost after hours data - false advertising???" AfriMan stated otherwise.
We'll need to look closer into how this could have happened, if the downloads ran later than expected, or if the usage reports from Telkom were received much later than expected with incorrect time stamps (which is a long shot but theoretically possible).

Long ago when webafrica ran their own network there was also mention by them of Telkom logs.

AFAIK its hourly usage reports from Telkom.
And its not exactly on the hour. So to be very safe start your downloads 01:01am and stop at 04:59am
