Can anyone tell me if ISPs need to make a copy of your ID and proof of address for RICA or can they just look at your information. I'm not happy to let a non bank institution have copies of my ID and address details - not with all the fraud going on.

Thanks
B.

Sorry bro.

All ISP's are required to RICA their clients; meaning they need a copy of your ID and proof of address.

Nothing that can be done about it, unless your aim is to try change the new law...

Uncomfortable as it may be, there is no other alternative.

Its redundant, because you're not giving them that information in person... which is required (rather obscurely) by RICA. But I'll bet they won't open you account unless you RICA (albeit improperly). RICA pisses me off. Alot. How are ISP's supposed to register people "in person"?
