Hi All,

After being without ADSL for 3 days (and counting) again, I started thinking about why I am having to continuously call/email/message both my ISP and Telkom to get feedback. (My Line is managed by my ISP). Has anyone had experience with their ISP where they have proactively helped to fight the fight with Telkom. For example, automatically escalating after the appropriate time, regular status updates etc?

Afrihost took a day or two to actually respond to my issue with my line but 3 people have responded since. I escalated to Telkom on HelloPeter as well as their social sites so I am pushing from all sides myself but thats because I am fskcing impatient and don't wait for feedback...

While they have had a tough time of late I second this. They got a telkom techie out in 24 hours of me logging a ticket that basically had to install a brand new line in my house.

Was super impressed.

I'm still battling to get a landline installed...lol. Apparently the cable across the street is faulty and needs replacing :|. I wouldn't blame your ISP for the slackness of Telkom

I did the same. Harassed Telkom on social media and harassed Axxess. Eventually line back up after 3-4 days, but still syncing a bit slow.

To be honest my perception of Axxess is that they just regurgitate what the Telkom people say, things like "It's been escalated". They tell me they will call they Telkom Account Manager, but I don't get feedback on that.

Maybe I expect too much. I know it is low margin business, but I don't think it would be too difficult to have a service desk system that automatically gets the ISP to escalate with Telkom after the prescribed time, and then to send me an email saying "We noticed that your line fault has not been fixed within xx hours. We have escalated the matter with Telkom and here is your reference number"

Sounds like a good option.

The Afri Crew on MyBB are quite helpful when you PM them. They escalate as much as they can. I think in the end it is literally just a case of harassing as much as you can until something gets fixed. There are a lot of ISP's that are damn helpful and a lot that just pass the buck.

I have had mweb fight for me against telkom for months to sort out my issue.
