Israel to expand settlements on Palestinian territory

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his forum of eight senior ministers decided on Tuesday to initiate a new wave of settlement construction in the West Bank, as part of a wider set of sanctions Israel is planning to impose on the Palestinian Authority after it was accepted to UNESCO as a member on Monday.

Netanyahu's office instructed Tuesday that the construction of 2,000 housing units planned in East Jerusalem, Gush Etzion, and Ma'aleh Adumim should be expedited.

"All of the mentioned areas are ones that would remain in Israeli control under any future peace agreement," Netanyahu's office said in a statement.

Officials in Netanyahu's office said that the decision to increase settlement construction is solely an initial response to the Palestinians' UNESCO membership, and there will be further discussions on the subject in the coming days.

Guys let's face it the "Two State Solution" is just a Israeli front to become a "one State Solution" with whats left of the West Bank eventually becoming a "Suburb" of Israel.

I'm guessing, God gave the zionists this land, so they can do whatever they want?

Can't see Hamas settling for that. Perhaps the PA, because they're already bought, but not Hamas.

Marine they are building illegally to stop rockets? Errm this story is the reason they are getting rocketed bud. They are just doing what they like regardless of what anyone tells them.

Shame they are victims though, when a few israeli's get killed everyone will say o look at those palestinians causing trouble again.

I wonder how it would go down for the US to start making settlements in afghanistan. How about they start a new state in iraq for american citizens to live.

Please tell me you're joking? You can't be serious. Tell me you were being sarcastic.

They just said its a response to the UNESCO membership. No mention of any rocket. Either way, I don't see how a land grab is going to do anything except create more rocket attacks.

It doesn't require an individual of "hate" to see what the Israeli's really want.
 
Marine what is your take on mugabe allowing people to grab land?

That should give us an indication of how you feel on the issue and then we can apply it to this case. I am hoping you are against land grabs in all honesty but with you it could go either way.

Just my opinion on the whole middle east stupidity.

I've noticed on this forum that we have two groups who mainly post regarding the Israel and Palestine situation. One is pro Israel and the other is pro Palestine.

Now the problem with this is, that you've made up your mind before even hearing or processing the latest information that's come through. So in essence you are backing up a title or a nation's label. Your not bothered with what is good or decent, your going to defend the team you've chosen and attack the opposing team irrespective of who is right or who is wrong.

Is that not a bit.... mindless? I mean why not gather the information, process it and THEN come up with an opinion. Don't base your "opinion" solely on the label of the offender or "victim". You may as well be a mindless robot programmed to back up and defend "x nation" no matter what.
