Hi all.

i'm busy building my new site using ISS to run my access server. For about two weeks now it's all been fine, but now it's asking me for a username and password when I try to access files using 'localhost/...'

My site is (or at least was) set up to allow annonmous (sp?) users, but now wants a password/username..

I'm assuming that something somewhere has decided that the site is no longer vaild for annon users. Under 'auth methods' in the ISS control panel the 'allow anon users' buttong is checked.

Anyone got any ideas?

not too sure - had this a few years back, but forget why / how

Anyway, try:

check the folder permissions (with windows explorer) - should have IIS access to the folder.

Sorted..

Seems when I had my laptop unplugged it went into powersaving mode and when I restarted it's assigning me a different username/password automatically that ISS doesn't like..

Rebooted machine and everything is fine :)

Thanks for the help though..
