I have these light switch sized 'telephone' line boxes in my new house. Today the Telkom technician came to move my line and do the new installation. He put his testing machine in, and drove off. He came back and shook his head.
He asked if I know where the Telkom line comes in the house.

I showed him the above, he looked in the attic area but didn't want to go in (he was a bit heavy) he also did not want to get his ladder and go on the roof. He said he cannot help me, as he would need permission to go into the people behind's garden to access the pole. He bolted very quickly without really looking around much.
After he left I went to look and discovered that the pole is accessible without entering anyone elses property.

Does anyone have experience with how to install with the white box I have? I would like to use it, and not drill and stick new wires in. I think there was a line installed 2 owners back - if there is a line installed will a technician who has access to the pole be able to hook it back up?
Thanks
