Good morning/afternoon

I was wondering if anyone has some advice for me, I have an issue with Fox ESS LV2600 BMS.
I assume it's the BMS at least. I'm getting an error and I can't seem to find a way to sort it out myself.

I've tried the company I bought it from, but they are useless(scammers), and won't help, and the company they bought it from won't help either. I've asked them for help, emphasising I don't want them to honor the warranty, just advise me, but no luck.

Anyway the error I'm getting is below, if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

The specific light flashing isn't a problem (was it charging)

Those lights flash when charging

The red light means something happened

Probably triggered a low voltage trigger and once it goes past recovery voltage the red light goes away

The bms looks similar to the bms in my shoto

Good evening Mr Leon and thanks for the reply.

I initially didn't think there was a major problem. But its been like this for a few hours with no change.
And the inverter just displays "charging" it doesn't indicate anything else.

When I look in the manual it says it is "ADC/AFE Fault" (second picture)

I have no clue what this means, I cant find anything definite online.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

use the up or down button to change display until it show BATT on the left where it currently shows input
find the ones that say A for charge rate tell us what that value is
then the one of the next ones should give you V voltage of battery

if the state is still the same with the red light
(is it flashing or solid on)

not sure if the way the reset button on yours is the same as mine
there is a reset button normally in a hole

would need a too a tooth pick or something to press it
normally a few seconds press will cause a shutdow think it is 3-5 seconds
and press again a start up
and a long hold down press of 10 seconds will cause a hard reset

Good evening @leon.davibe
Thanks for the advice so far, I have the battery but not the inverter it's at the inlaws.

I've searched high and low and can't find any reset switch on the inverter.

I've looked high and low for any visual issues on the PC, but can't seem to see anything.

I've tested the battery packs in the enclosure, it's currently at 53.2v. (26.6v each) I'm going to disconnect the pos and neg from the BMS and see if it makes any difference.

I've tried all other combinations I can think of with the two available buttons to reset the BMS but no luck.

Thought the start switch is in the same spot as the shoto but not exactly

Seeing the photo with all in view i can see the placement of elements isn't the same as my shoto

Though Mine is labelled reset it is also used to start the battery

Short press for start
3-5s for shutdown
and long press for hard reset

I can't recall exactly how long the press needs to be, need to find the doc again

i just held it until it reboots
(i always struggle to get the shutdown to initiate properly either holding too short or too long)

Can always just try a shutdown
First and normal boot

The voltages look good
Battery is basically full

Just don't disconnect the negative first

Most bms's require a specific sequence to disconnect

ie positive first normally that shuts down the bms

And if removing the bms the balance wires need to be disconnected descending the plug with negative connection last

And installing the inverse again
Negative first then balance wires ascending until last battery positive last

It may not be exactly the same on yours but rather safe than sorry hence i would try shutdown first

Does the power button cause it to shutdown if pressed

ie have you been able to reboot the battery to see if problems stay

Unfortunately opening the covers would have voided any warrantee

Sometimes these batteries have hickups and a reboot helps

If it stays after reboot then you would need more specialised help

If a bms has failed you can always use an aftermarket bms
Like the jkbms sold by lithium-cells in SA if repairing is too costly by the agents

I'm aware that opening the battery has voided the warranty, but the company(I just checked the website, and surprisingly it's down/closed) I bought it 3 years ago,
They are refusing to honor the warranty. they've just stopped replying to any emails.
They bought it from Segen Solar, they are also refusing to give me any advice because I didn't buy directly from them.

I'm between a rock and a hard place.

I've tried holding the power button for a few every which way to no avail.
I'll attempt one last time.

My last resort was to try disconnecting the BMS for a while and see if that makes a difference. Thanks for the heads-up though with regards to disconnecting the Positive first and the other disconnection order.

If it doesn't work, I was going to just put in an Aftermarket BMS.

I'll let you know what happens.

Is there no bluetooth or something? How is one supposed to know what the fault is?

Nope, no Bluetooth.

I attached the pictures of the fault I found in the manual
When I look in the manual it says it is "ADC/AFE Fault" (second picture)

No clue what that means.

Make sure new BMS has bluetooth.

Neither do I, if I replace the BMS ill make sure it has Bluetooth.

AFE = Analog front-end
ADC = Analog-to-digital converter

I would try holding the start button for a few seconds first to see if it resets

Is the power button a momentary switch or does it click if it isn't a momentary switch i doubt it would perform a reset with it

If a momentary switch maybe

But yea if the bms has failed then it kinda doesn't matter the order in which you disconnect
disconnecting the pack from bms will restart it :)

I forgot to update everyone.

I tried everything that was suggested to no avail.

I ended up taking it to a company in Cape Town and they seemed to of fixed it.

They said the PCB of the BMS needed some repairs and charged me an easy R3500.

thank you for all the advice and assistance.

Indeed.

God forbud there is a next time but I'll go the route of BMS replacement instead.

Thanks again
