Hi guys I’m not tech savvy at all and don’t really understand how this fiber internet works but , for the past 3weeks I’ve been having issues with my internet.

From the little I know 100/100 fiber connection is supposed to be slightly better than my old 8mbps adsl line.

I mostly play PS4 GTA online and FIFA and most of the time my old 8mbps line did far better that my fiber connection, how is this possible?

From the speed test I did on my fiber line . my results are 15mbps download and 32mbps upload and 92ping , don’t know what this mean thought I should share.

Even something simple like streaming music from Apple Music, series from showmax or watching YouTube videos on 1080 is slower on my fiber and I’m the only one using it .is this normal, should I upgrade my fiber line but honestly really considering going back to my adsl line I’ve seen no improvement with fiber , I’m really clueless and any advice would be appreciated thanks.

Vumatel / Cool Ideas / Johannesburg South

Hi There, there is a common thread for anything Cool Ideas related :).

So a couple things are: Is this Vumatel aerial or trenched?

Have you tested over cable as well as wireless?

Try using an ethernet cable. Wifi adds far too many variables to the equation

Yeap best to start with cable and if everything works as it should, work towards the wireless network issues.
