Issues with SMTP

Hi

Can't send mails ... smtp.afrihost.co.za
Tried port 25 and 587.

Earlier this week it was rejecting mails with "request return receipt" set, this MAY be in issue with Kmail.

Please advise urgently.
I did try 41.76.227.150 as well on port 587.

Hi,

I just tested smtp.afrihost.co.za:25 on 3 different connections and it seems to send to outlook,gmail and yahoo without any issues or delays.

Can you confirm which connection you are currently using?

No auth

Afrihost fibre.

Autodetect says STARTTLS but that does not work either.

Was working fine yesterday, Eskom forced a reboot.
 
Two different tests, first has return receipt request.

Failed to transport message. Server error: <[email protected]> NOTIFY=success,failure: malformed address: NOTIFY=success,failure may not follow <[email protected]>

Have you tried to send it to a gmail.com address to see if that works?

Looks like the return message was that the domain isn't valid when it is. If gmail works I need to ask Server Admin to have a look.
 
They appear to have fixed it now for normal mail, thanks.

Requesting Return Receipt still an issue. which *MAY* be Kmail, since it assumes server handles it and does not check first. But server should accept that.?

Morning,

Following up on this.

We currently experiencing some intermittent connection at Gallo Manor which might impact our smtp server and email.
