If I wanted to be able to buy at Rectron, Scoop, Esquire and other distributors for my friends and myself to get dealer pricing, is it as simple ad opening a 'company' for the job?

You can buy directly from Scoop & Esquire without having a company/CC. With Scoop you'll just pay a small percentage more if you buy it not through a company.

Rectron requires a rather high monthly turnover to register with them, but you can still pull it off without having a high monthly turnover.

I can try and ask my brother how much effort it was to run his CC to buy PC's from like Rectron, Scoop, etc.

I cannot speak for other distributors but at Esquire we have opened our channel to MyBB three years ago with great success

Many MyBB members started off purchasing for themselves and today have fully fledged businesses and making success of it

We also have a few MyBB members that have started their own E-Commerce websites with our world first Virtual Reseller Network(VRN) program we introduced in November last year

To start off with opening an account with us is a fairly easy process , follow the instructions on my signature and take it from there

Oh good, at least it's well accepted it's on a personal use basis. Was worried about that review clause upon activation. So an Esquire account for MYBB members is for life ? Cool !

I see no point in buying from Rectron, their prices are higher and their product range has got smaller. They are not the company they used to be.

I would have argued their support was better, used to get things look at and sorted with one visit, but that has changed as well.

@Esquire so long does it take for that account to become active? A friend of mine applied in Nov 2011 and guess what he is still waiting to get his account activated this after numerous e-mails and phone calls and I recommended him.

Thanks.

Took two weeks for me.

Don't bother. It ends after the application goes through.
I applied months ago, and after my last moan (about 2 months ago) I got a PM saying it will be done first thing in the AM. Still nothing. Given up now.

All depends where you want to buy, some are pretty simple but to get the decent pricing(sahara is for instance cheaper on intel products than Rectron) you will need to go the whole 9 yards, most of them are cool and allow cash accounts but okes like Core(Apple products) require an annual turnover of 5 mil...

Took about 20mins for mine to go through... Guess I got lucky!

... but in that case - they'd have to register a business and get a VAT number in order to claim back?

Am I right in saying Esquire sell X at R100.00 ex VAT, so I pay R114.00 and charge my client R130.00 incl VAT. At the end of the year, I claim back the R14.00 I paid you initially?

Hi there Esquire. Hope this is considered "trolling" but it would be great if the website had a function whereby we couold select a price range and then any items within that range would appear. Thanks.
