Remove all of the above. The second you list Word & Excel as a skill people assume you barely know how to switch on a computer.

And that's coming from someone using Excel all day every day lol

"Life skills" are important though - I can code a hell of a quantitative trading strategy, but still have trouble with stairs and door handles...

haha yes. This is Life Skills as in the subject presumably - where they tell you it's important to wear a condom. Indeed it is - but not something to lead the CV with.

OP is much better off having less stuff listed & the listed things being more chunky so to speak.

thanks for your replies and haha l'll review my CV on that, just thought it would come in handy at the time

The problem with listing Excel as a skill for an IT based position is that I will assume you have advanced Excel skills and require you write a VLOOKUP and do a Pivot table in the interview. If you cannot do those sorts of things than it is not worth listing as basic Excel skills are assumed for any IT position.

l'm able to do so but not in a working space which l'm yet to experience. so my hope really is getting exposure and learning from it. l'll take your advice and look into it more thanks!
