Why would you quote an hourly rate for a 4yr contract, and such a long list of responsibilities and requirements?

Fair enough, so they're going to pay on an hourly basis for 4 years? Is that common? Just asking.
I've seen it with many contract positions at especially corporates. Not uncommon. You aren't always guaranteed 8 hours of work, for example.

Just a question that will maybe guide the readers :)

Not interested myself but

1. Do they guarentee a minimum number of hours a month for the 4 years
2. Is there a maximum cap on hours claimable for a month
3. Is hours spent time on premises or is travel time claimable

All to often I have seen these type of contracts worded to basically cater for a job on time and materials basis.
I know some big corporates use this type of contract to try and abuse resources.
Not really useful for someone who wants to do the job on a full time basis. You can never guarantee income for any given month.

Wouldn't a 4 year contract be regarded as permanent employment according to the LRA and SARS - also just asking. When I used to contract, we could only sign a 1 year contract at a time, each contract had to be very specific about about the project that the contract required, defined tasks, hours, cost per hour etc. this was like 7 years ago, so things may have changed.

1. What methodology is used? Can the PM introduce other methodologies?

2. Are the devs located at client sites?

3. Is there a PMO?

4. Considering the quite a few tasks to be responsible for:

A) how many projects is the PM expected to handle?

B). Is there a support staff available to the PM (I.e. Project Administrator, project coordinator)

Apply for the job, then go to the interview and ask? This detail is hardly ever in a PM job post.
