Was sitting around for 3 months looking for that job im qualified for but everywhere you go its only graduate programmes starting next year.

So since i have 2years experience as a cctv and it technician i've decided to approach known pc/it stores. Would like to know if anyone has firsthand exp with these stores(cpt - s.west area). Need info such as if your pay is by commission, flat salary if any, good place to work at in general, etc.

-Chaos computers
-dion-wired
-incredible con
-computer mania

Would dearly appreciate any feedback. Looking for a 'Chuck'like job out of the top, would be awesome!:D

Oh and if anyone has suggestions for stores/companies please feel free to share:)

I'm still a bit  about why he asked what the pay was like at those stores? I'm pretty sure if you go to an interview at those stores they'll tell you the pay structure?

Not everyone that has anything to do with IT started out at one of those... pick up your phone. Phone them. And ask.

Acidrazor: I believe forewarned is forearmed. Anything else the company says will fill the details. Also i would like to hear the general feeling the employees have of the abovementioned companies, ie pc enthusiasts would put up with plenty of crap before they start hating the job. If someone hates, then i know its a redflag for the company(or at least that branch) and i will be upfront and let them know im only going to be fulfilling my responsibilities, everything else they want from me would need my blessing. Plus, with my limited exp i get the feeling that any employer will say his company is the best:)
Pb: with cctv u can rake in the money(last firm i worked for successfully charged batches of x-over cable at R500 ea and still do, not that il be attempting those bizniz practices), unf i dont have the transportation covered.

Since you have the CCTV experience. Why not try and start your own thing ?

Please, all the security market needs now is another wannabe small time security company or one man band. A few years back at tender opening meetings you would see 4 or 5 well known companies attending. Lately you see about 30 to 50 companies (95% small CCs) attending the same meetings. And the security market is taking quite a knock now so it's not a very wise move.
