I did have a couple anxious moments as I ordered the laptop, and the shipping took forever (because apparently they had issues at customs when importing the laptops due to the batteries they shipped alongside them), then just as I was contemplating calling my bank to try and reverse the transaction, I got a waybill to track my order, and eventually it arrived. Going back to the topic of customer support, it is amazing. I spoke with two people through the process of my order, Kumar and Timothy, both very friendly and helpful, I even spoke on the phone with Kumar as he reached out to me after I voiced my concerns about my laptop not arriving. 10/10 I recommend them.

The laptop took 17 days to be delivered and it was held up in customs?
Wtf is going on here, they are supposed to have a local branch in South Africa?!
 
Thanks Drizzy. Decided to go with Wootware instead as I was not entirely convinced due to the sketchiness. It was not worth the stress, and warranty claims in the future etc etc so decided for a more reputable firm. Not all new members are scammers and are genuinely trying to find information that might be helpful.
 
They don't look that dodge., they claim to have a physical location for pickups, have a payfast account, although I could not find their VAT number on SARS, and I see excl./incl. of VAT pricing and mention of VAT on the pro formas. Did not dig any furhter and also could not look into their directors as CIPC is offline
 
@Drizzy Stick around the forums.

side note: The same name & surname that is linked to the courier waybill is in your pic on the laptop. Remove the pics.
 
Clearly his worst fears came true - someone traced the info he posted and paid him a visit Sunday night ...

ITWorkup is fine.
I ordered from them after Drizzy's post, and other than being a little light on the packaging there were no issues.

Some other reviews if you don't want to believe me either;

We're more worried about Drizzy's well-being at this stage to be honest. He hasn't been back on and I'm worried sick that he might have been 'offed after posting his residential details :crying:

I have also read through the Carbonite thread and can see that they are listed as verified sellers on bobshop. I would consider going through bobshop if interested in something since you would at least have the support of bobshop in the event you need a refund (which they have assisted me with in the past).

I will give it a few months and then review the forums again. I hope that will become reputable soon, there are some nice components which I would like to get for a NAS build.
