They are super slow, I had my amazon US order arrived quicker then IT Workup.
I promise you, even Amazon isn't getting 10 boxes totaling a quarter ton worth of goods with a volumetric weight of several tons, and value in the hundreds of thousands of Rands through customs as quickly as a shoebox-sized parcel.

Some distributors have had delays as long as 6 weeks because of customs (this is once the stock has been offloaded from the ship - I'm not talking port delays).

I've ordered a couple of things from Amazon in the last month, I must say it has been a pleasure, most things getting here within a 2 week window, normally a week before their estimate. Definitely getting better and easier getting stuff directly from them

I think I am just annoyed that they are giving me useless facts, I honestly thought if it's en route from the warehouse to their offices last week sat, I should be able to collect on Monday , Thats last week already.
I still don't understand the delay.

I am replacing hardware on my server at home and had everything ready, now I will have to redo my work.

Ready for collection....15 days.
Once again, you have not provided your order number, so we cannot verify the status of your order. All our listings state that shipping can take up to 12 business days, and we communicate these timelines multiple times via email. We are almost certain that the delivery took 12 or fewer working days, but there might have been a delay of 1 or 2 days due to FedEx and customs.

We offer unseen prices for many items in South Africa market, and all we ask for in return is your patience.

Thank you for your understanding.

Might be a good idea to be a bit less aggressive with customers, every post of yours I've seen in this thread comes off as being very confrontational and not actually answering the questions directly.

Delays we all understand, but the feedback in this exact example is that the customer would rather know about his specific parcel and have a way to get info regarding that (whether its stuck in customs or not) rather than the whole shipment and how many boxes it contains.

Perhaps just looking at it from a customer side rather than a seller side might adjust your responses a bit

Thanks @R4ziel

Almost scared to reply here...

But anyways, @ITworkup I said my order is ready for collection and I got an email so I don't see the need for this to investigate further also I sent you my order number a few times last week, and you can check if you want.

Only after placing the order I was advised that:"
"In Stock at Warehouse" - These items are in stock at our warehouses. Delivery time can vary from 5 to 12 working days from the date of your order."

Now I know.

Greetings,

We strive to provide clear and timely updates on every step of order process, including:

  1. Order confirmation
  2. Order being processed
  3. Order in transit to our offices
  4. Order shipped or ready for collection
  5. Order completed
We sent an email stating that your order is included in the current shipment of 10 boxes and provided expected arrival dates. When asked for updates on this forum, we politely requested your order number:

"Greetings,

Please provide your order number.

Thank you!"

Our responses are not aggressive at all. Could you please clarify where you might have gotten that impression?

However, it is challenging to assist further without the necessary details, as the customer has not shared the order number. We are committed to resolving any issue and ensuring customer satisfaction but without the client's willingness to cooperate, it is impossible.

Look I don't have a horse in this race and it seems @bar1 is satisfied with the reply he eventually got, I'm just saying your posts in this thread comes off as being very confrontational or defensive. But hey I'm just a consumer buying stuff, so what do I know.

We have located your order number in our mailbox and responded on the same day. Apologies for any confusion, as we receive many messages, and it can be challenging to match them with nicknames.

Your order was placed on 28/05/2024, so exactly 10 working days have passed since then.

Every product on our site clearly states the delivery time frame, as shown in the attached photo. We understand you may have missed this information, but it was provided.

We would like to highlight that you purchased a brand-new OEM 2TB Gen3 NVMe SSD for less than R2,000, which is an exceptionally competitive price. We kindly asked just for a little patience.

Thank you for your order, and we hope to do business with you again in the future.

Greetings @nashbert,

Actually, we replied to Intox's message, but the moderators deleted our reply because we are not a "registered" vendor here. We don't understand why our reply was deleted since we are not selling anything here, just explaining our terms and conditions. Here is our deleted reply to member Intox:

Dear Intox,

Thank you for your inquiry and the thoughtful questions.

Warranty Process:
Yes, you understood correctly. For warranty support, such as with a graphics card or any other device, we initiate by ordering a free pickup by The Courier Guy from any location in South Africa to our office in Midrand. Upon receipt, we inspect the product for any physical or liquid damage and to ensure it hasn't been disassembled. We then conduct our own testing. If the product is faulty, we offer either a full refund or a replacement. Please note, if you opt for a replacement, it may take 5-12 working days for delivery if we source it from our European warehouses.

We've had a few warranty cases, like an Xbox that shut down after 7 seconds of turning on. The client chose to wait for a new product due to our competitive pricing, and we delivered it within 8 working days.

Our local distributors usually provide a refund or a new product for defective items under warranty, so we aim to avoid wasting customer time.

European Stock:
You may refer to them as Grey imports, but we source the same brands and products from our European distributors as your local distributors might offer. We work directly with many manufacturers like MSI, Deepcool, Gigabyte, Asus, and Asrock through our European distributors. Last year, our company's turnover was nearly 100 million Rands, establishing us as a recognized entity in our region.

The same warranty that applies to a Gigabyte Graphics card should be valid here in South Africa. However, contacting us directly is often faster and more efficient since we need to return the defective product to its origin.

We are committed to being here long-term and anticipate rapid expansion in South Africa. As mentioned earlier, our affiliation with CSSi Company, which shares the same director and has been successful for over 20 years, stands as our best guarantee. CSSi is a significant company with a long history.

I hope this answers your questions thoroughly. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any further queries.

Wish you a great Wednesday!
Where are you based as the address is waterfall, 28 Augrabies Road and you do not exist there? I visited the address. Please give us the correct address.

@ITworkup I looked at some of your Laptops. Some models seems to be parallel imports.

You seem to import models that doesn't seem to be normally available in SA.

Who handles the warranty and the extended warranty of these laptops? Are these local warranties? I was looking at a Lenovo but it seemed to be a Polish model.

They might also have some weird layout on the keyboard.

I may as well answer for you.

Their stock is from Europe, so there will definitely be models that aren't otherwise available locally - the European market is far larger than the SA market and therefore they carry a wider range. Warranty is through the European distributors through ITWorkup, so it's local in as much as there's a local retailer to take it to.

Some feedback on 1st order I placed with them:

Date ordered: 2024-08-08
Date delivered: 2024-08-26
= 12 work days

To be fair the weather has been horrendous in CT and there might have been a delay with customs/clearing/etc.

So overall I'm not complaining.

They might also have some weird layout on the keyboard.
I was looking at keyboards and IT Workup showed up in a Google search, but the description states: "Keyboard layout might be German". Even though they seem to have the best price that's not a chance that I can take.

I'm about to bite the bullet, wish me luck.
