IT Workup

I was looking at keyboards and IT Workup showed up in a Google search, but the description states: "Keyboard layout might be German". Even though they seem to have the best price that's not a chance that I can take.

That generally means that the Y and Z keys are swapped.
Some keyboards also show the umlauts and other crap as the "shift function" of those keys.

Other than that it's usually identical to the english keyboard.

@ITworkup In the event that an identical item is found cheaper (new and unsealed) at another South African retailer, is the company willing to, at minimum, match the price or even offer a lower price on it?

Good day,

Yes, we typically offer even better pricing than what you may find locally. In about 90% of cases, we have been able to provide lower prices. This can vary depending on the product and manufacturer, but in most instances, we can offer a better deal if you provide a link to a local market price.

Short review: IT Workup.co.za a.k.a itwork.lt

Ordered a camera from you guys on the 9th of this month, just received it - thank You. !
Only change I would suggest is get more proactive with providing E.T.A and tracking numbers on your site

Good day,

Thank you very much for your prompt review and valuable advice. The estimated delivery time (ETA) is always available on the product page, indicating either 0-2 business days for local stock or 5-12 business days for external stock.

You should have also received email updates regarding the estimated delivery time during your order processing.

If there's anything more we can do to improve our service, please let us know. We’re thrilled to have you as a satisfied customer!

Wishing you a wonderful day!

Ordered a Samsung SSD from them on Monday morning 30 September 2024. I first sent a mail querying something. Received a prompt reply from Timothy. Went ahead and paid by card after the email from Timothy. Received an automated email thereafter with delivery time estimates, although they were already clearly visible on the website. My order is currently in the "processing" state. As updates are received, I will add them here so others can see how the process plays out.

So far all their estimated times have been met. Will update once item is delivered.

EDIT: I noted there was no tracking information in the automated mail. I emailed them and Timothy replied with the waybill number. So I will track independently now.

Item was delivered today. So that’s 10 working days since I placed my order, including the day I placed my order. I have not tested item yet, will do so and report back, but they are legit and item arrived timeously.

Thank you @ITworkup!

Final update regarding my order. Since it arriving 10 work days after the order I have had a chance to test and use item and all fine. I purchased the item for just under R7 000. The cheapest I could find in SA at the time was R8 800. The item has since gone on sale with an online retailer and is R7 500 with that retailer.

All in all it was a very pleasant experience. It would appear I only have a two year warranty with them as opposed to the five year offered locally on that item. If I made use of their extended warranty offer it would end up costing the same as buying locally. So depending on the local warranty of the item you wish to purchase, you would need to weigh up the years you would possibly miss out on.

Thank you @ITworkup and well done!

Hi there
I know this has probably been asked (few years back on this thread) but I have a question about ITworkup.
I want to buy a specific set of headphones and see the price at ITworkup is significantly cheaper (R3500 cheaper) than anywhere else. And it doesnt seem to be a specific sale or anything

1. Just want to check their credibility? I understand returns have to happen 7 days after delivery but because this is a Christmas present we will obviously only know if there is a fault much later on.
2. I am curious as to how are they able to be so much cheaper? Are these second hand goods?
3. Has anyone chosen to instead pick up their purchase from the Waterfall office park instead of delivery? I see that delivery seems to take long?

Thanks,

1. They are credible.
2. No second hand stuff, just true savings on some items.
3. I have been there a few times. If you are close to Midrand, collection would be a better option.

Keep in mind that even if you choose collection it's not going to cut out a significant amount of time, the bulk of the waiting time is the stock shipping from overseas to their offices in Midrand.
You mentioned it's for a Christmas present, then you should order it ASAP.

What is the SSD made of for R7000

Actually, we currently have some special prices on high-capacity SSD drives. You can get a 4TB NVMe SSD for just R4,299

Please apply 4TB SSD Capacity filter :)

must be a high capacity SSD - 4TB or more.
Usually the good 4tb+ drives with high TBW/proper dram cache and tlc/mlc start around that price.

The Samsungs though, you're just paying the 'ol apple tax with them now.
That brand lost its only edge when they changed from mlc to tlc (and vastly lower TBW), making it just as generic as most the other brands in reliability.

I have a further question about warranty - I am wanting to purchase a set of BOSE headphones from IT Workup and see they have a 2 year warranty. Seems to me other suppliers have a similar warranty? Or should it be longer?
