I have a further question about warranty - I am wanting to purchase a set of BOSE headphones from IT Workup and see they have a 2 year warranty. Seems to me other suppliers have a similar warranty? Or should it be longer?
Good day,

We offer a 24-month warranty for Bose headphones, with the option to purchase additional warranty if desired.

Thank you!

Been trying to get a quote for a full build from @ITworkup since Thursday last week, with no success.

Went in to fetch a motherboard for a friend and spoke to Tim who said I should email my parts list through and they will quote on what they can do, including building the PC.

6 days and 6 email reminders later, still no quote or commitment.

Hi there,

We sincerely apologize for the delay. Could you please forward your email request to [email protected]? This will help me investigate further, as I currently don’t have any specific details, including your email.

Thank you!

I forwarded you my email yesterday morning.
There has been no response to that email either.

Regardless, I created a cart, placed an order and paid a R500 deposit.

All of the items were marked as "5+ In Stock at Warehouse", which tells me that my they should be ready for collection as soon as my deposit is allocated.

Over to you.

Greetings,

We would like to kindly remind you that the delivery timeframe is clearly stated on every product page as 5–14 business days. If this does not meet your expectations, you are welcome to cancel the order.

Thank you for your understanding!

So they lie about stock quantities to get your money and then order/import the goods, hence 14 days wait.

I don’t know how much clearer this can be, but all our listings clearly state the delivery dates. If you cannot wait, you’re welcome to skip the order. Every eShop has its own products and delivery times.

Feel free to check Wootware or any other reseller, and you’ll find they also have products with delivery times that can take up to two weeks. We are not hiding anything; delivery times are displayed on every product page. If you can show us even one product where this information is missing, please let us know.

If reading the stated delivery times is an issue, that is not something we can address.

100% get where you are coming from, but there is an argument that In stock at warehouse* could be somewhat misleading.

*Delivery time: 5-12 Working days

Check how clear this is compared to the above:

Is an item still in stock even though it might take 100 days to be delivered? Yes. But how you communicate that fact, matters. The average pleb in SA sees In stock at warehouse in green and assumes that it is local stock,

Agree with the poster above.

I acknowledge that every page has the delivery times stated as:

Given that I chose to "pick up" and not use "delivery", my assumption was that "In Stock" products, as displayed on every page too, are in your possession, at your local premises and therefore ready for pickup.

As a consumer, I don't believe that's an unreasonable interpretation of what's displayed on your website as it is the standard used by the majority of retailers and a standard that customers are familiar with.

Everything is explained on our Collection and Delivery information pages:

We clearly state our delivery times for every product. Sometimes, even from local distributors, it can take a week or more. It makes no sense to see the delivery times and then complain that you were unaware of them

I'm not at all complaining that I was unaware. If you misconstrue that as a complaint, I can't help that.

Merely sharing my experience in how the information that is displayed - is received as a consumer, for interpretation, based on standard industry practice.

I agreed with you that its displayed on your website. No problem at all. I even supported your statement with a screenshot.

Yes and I am not disagreeing with you.

The average Joe will not see that delivery block or even bother to click it. See shiny item buy shiny item. And that is not your fault.

It is simply that an item marked as In stock with warehouse is widely understood as onsite stock, unless you are wantitall/importitall. If I were you I would add in a single word:

We truly appreciate your advice and will implement this change within 24 hours. We will mark these items as "In Stock at External Warehouse," as it is not always an overseas warehouse but may have a longer delivery time. Thank you once again; we are fully committed to making this adjustment.

Just ordered a CPU and Motherboard.

We shall see how long it takes

I'll keep you guys updated

Apologies if this is posted incorrectly.

Does anyone know of a company called IT workup?

Are they credible ?

Pricing seems reasonable.

Seems to be limited info on the various forums, they have Google reviews though.
Red flag guys. I ordered 2 x SSD's from them (Order 63668). After weeks and weeks waiting only 1 arrives. Very well wrapped. But only one. So I contact the Timothy the owner by email day after day but he's just ducking and diving. This looks like a back room business. Avoid!

SH!take happens, even big local places like takealot mess up far worse... heck try dealing with evetech, now there's a place that ducks, dives and don't even honor warranties/refunds full amounts.

Personally ordered many expensive items from itworkup and always received it on time without issue.

Good day,

Tim is not the owner of this company, and I assure you, we are taking this matter very seriously. I promise to provide you with a detailed explanation of what happened or process a refund immediately, whichever is appropriate.

It seems there may have been some confusion regarding the quantity you ordered (x2 instead of x1), but let us check

As it’s Saturday, I kindly ask some time to investigate further. I need to reach out to four team members who were involved in the process, and I will resolve this for you today.

Thank you for your patience, and I will follow up shortly.

We understand your frustration and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. However, flooding our mailbox on a Friday evening and responding to our automated email—which clearly states our working hours—with a message like, "This is an absolute bullshit response. I think you are just ducking and diving now," is quite unreasonable.

Please allow us the time today to thoroughly investigate your issue. We are committed to resolving it promptly and providing you with a detailed update.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I ordered a motherboard and CPU. I did receive the incorrect CPU, but it was a human error (switching of 2 digits in the order number).

It was resolved swiftly and I would definitely use ITWorkup again.

They have stock of things no-one else holds and so one can order from them instead of going via Amazons, B&Hs, Ebays, various smaller foreign shops and freight forwarders.

I see some of their item names and descriptions are in foreign languages. Not sure if that's because their supplier is there or because they pull their text from some foreign European sites.

:)
