Just now I got an sms from FNB, telling me italk deducted R305 from my account for the Anytime 200 contract which was advertised R275 PM, I have checked my airtime balance and there's still like R80 left in my R200 bundle.

Anyone know what's the story here before I call their account department and find out?

BTW I was told my Samsung Omnia replacement should be delivered on Wednesday after 2 1/2 weeks waiting, but it's not here and the consultant never called me to confirm, I called in and escalated the problem with their supervisor as the same useless consultant (Calvin, yes you, from Durban) never call me back as he promised many times. I should be notified by the supervisor personally on Monday about my delivery.

ya, the first month they deduct the pro rata of the current month you're in and the full subscription for the next month, in one deduction. Their free minutes allocation/billing period runs from 10th to the 10th, so the extra u got billed was probably for the pro rata. MTNSP runs from the 20th to the 20th. Theres also that once off connection/sim fee. I think you got billed correctly.
Also, with iTalk, there is NO free number to check balances etc, 258 and every other call is billed at normal rates, including the Customer Service No, so beware how many times u need their assistance, its going to burn your free minutes.

BTW, the Omnia rocks now :) Gotten used to it and its damn nice, very advanced, lots of options. Still also equally love my N82 though. Ya ya basically 2 timing :)

I wonder if MTN Corporate has a free number to check balances, 258 and customer services...

OK, so the R265/PM for ANYTIME 200 is the Ex VAT price and you pay R300 PM for R200 airtime, and I got charged for SMS and National calls incurred between 6th Nov and billing date 10 Nov? I only got the phone delivered on the 6th and it broke the next day, I didn't even make that much of phones and SMS and why would they charge me. I don't think I have exceed my package

Is the extra charge not for things like itemised billing and CLIP perhaps?
