Been waiting for my Blackberry all week and finally get it today. Rush home to play and see theres smses on the phone that arent mine (at first I thought they were brought over on my sim but no)

Then try register on mtn.blackberry.com and it says the phone is registered to another carrier. So peed off right now. Can no one get anything flippin right these days?

Did you take it on contract? They were supposed to give you a brand new phone. Return it and insist on getting a brand new unit that wasn't used or even switched on.

was the box sealed? Usually the networks have a seal on the box when they deliver it. Its also usually wrapped in plastic. I would take it back.

Yeah I am taking it back. Thing is the box and plastic wrappings etc all seemed to be sealed so I dont know how it could have been used unless they send phones that are returned for repackaging?

I heard that none of the phone manufacturers seal the boxes. Boxes are sealed by the service providers / networks. So it is possible that when someone returns a phone after a day or two, they seal them again. Or maybe it's just an error, or someone at their office was playing around with it. Anyway, I hope they don't hassle you.

Same happened to me. I firmly believe the Omnia italk gave me as an brand new replacement for the OBF 7 day handset was a refurbished model.

Makes sense as there are ICASA stickers in the phone, a pamphlet and some other local things. Obviously RIM supplies in a non-sealed manner.

Wait until you try and get the Blackberry service working. iTalk had no idea what they were doing with mine, I eventually had to get someone on this forum to help me.
