iTalk Move to MTNSP

So, iTalk officially moved to MTN SP today (12/September/2009)

I got the obligatory, welcome to the MTN Network sms and then my phone said searching for singal for about an hour (8.30-9.30pm).

Seeing as on iTalk I was due for an upgrade on 1 October, I thought let me see if my number works on MTN's website (it didn't previously). Yipee. It did, but states my upgrade is 11 Septebmer 2011!!! Eish.

Also, on MTN active none of my data bundles or sms bundles seem to be loaded! I suppose I should get ready for a bill of note as MTN's billing system, the move from iTalk to MTN and all get a total muck around as no one knows what they are doing.

Any other fun experiences? Wish us iTalkers luck.

I punched in my iTalk number on the mtnsp site and it gave the same date...

Then sent an SMS and it said my upgrade date was now May 2010...

I know,I am over 20months on my contract...so I phoned a iTalk number that I was sms'ed and I was told I can upgrade from now at any mtnsp store...

Phone iTalk or mtnsp and see what they tell you...

The date you see is 2 years as of the date you were migrated from iTalk to MTN, this will be changed to the correct value in about a day or 2 from now, then just wait for MTN active to be updated with the correct date.

Yup. I see that it is already updated and I am eligible for upgrade. The problem is that there are no nice phones at the moment
