NB - had to include the Reese's mini peanut butter cups just in case BTech came meandering by. :D

oups, i wanted to ask where you buy those biscuits, in the previous post :)

koeksisters:

6 cups flour
1 pkt yeast
1/2 cup sugar
1 tea spoon aniseed
i tea spoon fine cinnemon
1 large egg
1 medium potato boiled
50g butter/1 table spoon
+- 500mil warm water

mash boiled potato, butter and egg (mix together)
put all other dry ingredients into mixing bowl
add your mixed potato,butter,egg
now add your warm water little at a time until nice and mushy (not dry) - let rise for 1hr.
now shape your koeksisters and leave on a flat surface for +- 30min
then deep fry in oil until golden brown and walaa you have nice koeksisters.

now just make a syrup and cover them.

Pooky they actually koeksisters and not doughnuts as i called them.

the vetkoek is made the same way except leave out the aniseed and cinnemon.

Im off to make some butternut soup now(and no not the instant variety), will go nicely with your bread :D

Those arent cookies . . . yet. They're chocolate chips, peanutbutter chips, and HeathBar bits. My family takes pity on my and includes a pack or two whenever they send a package over. :)

something like trailmix? i had something like that too from the states when our daughter came over for six months or so a few years ago but they were covered in chocolate. very yummy.

No - nothing like trail mix. Heath is more of a toffee crisp - tastes pretty good in cookies. :D
