I've been tooling around the forums the last couple of days, and I think I may have come to a startling (OK, maybe not startling... but interesting none the less) revelation.
There have been numerous reports of the PS3's weaknesses as a console, which is what is MEANT to be first & foremost. Yet, many people find themselves helplessly strung along by Sony's marketing machine & still believe that buying one is the best way possible to spend R6k-odd.
Now - what other gizmo is heralded as the next little technological marvel...? It's supposed to revolutionise its industry (again), but will probably fail to do anything of the sort outside of the US (again). Ladies & gentlemen, yes... I'm referring to iPhone2. Its GPS is inherently broken, it can't MMS, it has a pathetic camera, it doesn't give you access to its filesystem, it's an Apple product that (IIRC) doesn't support Apple iTunes etc. etc. but it looks purrrrty & its interface is all toucy-feely-screeny.
Here's my hypothesis: I would warrant that 9 out of 10 PS3-supporters, who don't already own Sony Ericsson phones, are probably drooling over the prospect of the new iPhone... Perhaps Sony & Apple should merge their marketing departments...
