ALEX Ndlovu bears the scars of Johan Nel'sbullets.

Ndlovu, 80, was busy cleaning his yard on the morning of January 14 2008 when a bullet ripped through his body, just above his left shoulder.

"I was busy cleaning up, getting rid of the grass in my yard when I heard shots. I thought that it was the nature conservation people who had earlier come to immunise dogs in the area," Ndlovu recalled yesterday.

"The next thing, I was lying on the ground with blood gushing from my wound."

He was rushed to a hospital in Rustenburg, where he spent more than a month recovering from his injury.

"It was very difficult because my wife and children stay in Musina and I was all alone. Thankfully, I managed to recover," he said.

Ndlovu said his left hand would still "occasionally shake" as a result of the shooting.

When asked about mayor Kim Medupe's call for forgiveness and moving on with the white people from the area, he frowned.

"I was shot and could have easily been killed. A three-month-old baby and her mother were killed, and for what?

"I find it very difficult to forgive someone who went out to kill us for no reason at all. Even during his court appearances, he would look at us and smirk. That made me very angry," Ndlovu said.

He said he appreciated the food parcels and the R5,000 that had been pledged by the municipality and the sponsors of the commemoration.

Now what about all other victims of crime? He get R5k ... all other victims get nothing?

What about family that lost fathers in hi-jackings etc? Mothers, sons, daughters. That 18 year old (matric) girl that was shot for her car last year...

Did zoomer have input? Because it looks again ... black vs white. Zoomer's only card...

I am sure many other families also received some relief, normally communities do rally together to support these families.

Sorry.. but it's not about the money. He got something atleast. But what about other people that lost family etc (he didn't loose anyone). He can't forgive (he didn't lose a wife/kids)... so why is the article published?

Edit: He didn't lost his wife/kids.

He got shot, spent a month in recovery, got problems with his left hand... How can you say he lost nothing?
Problem is you need respect for all human life, not blame innocent people based on Race/Gender/etc.
He has my sympathy as does anyone who is an innocent victim of inhumane screwed up individuals/organisations.

Grasping for something that isn't there are we?

Well he mentions the person not the white people.

In any case its up to the "white people" to rally around and support these victims. Not as an 'apology' but as fellow decent human beings. That will change perceptions

I didn't say I have no sympathy for him. I ask why get the article pubished but what about other people that lost loved ones ? (He is lucky to be alive). What about people that lost fathers/mothers/kids to crime?

He lost nothing = He didn't lose wife/kids.

he was a survivor, i get what you're tryin to say and they interviewed him, not the rest of SA. go to any article, most of the time it has testimonies or interviews with victims or families ofthe victim. how is this different?

So many black and white people get killed and raped in SA, what is so special about the guy in the original article ?

Reminds me of that cyclist that died in a car accident that is being sensationalised.

Am I missing something ?

Exactly my point..

I also find it diffucult to forgive you stupid f**ks for all the killing and raping your species is doing in this country. Just look at the news papers. Woman raped, stabbed and hit with garden fork and also almost killed in her home. AND FOR WHAT!

Yea.. I just get upset due to being a racial issue. It's not like we have enough racial issues with Zoomer and his crap.

Ag.. I just need to chill..

Holy crap! Something other than a human being is on the internet!

I, for one, welcome our new *insert animal* overlords.

He's 80 years old. When an 80 year old man says he finds it hard to forgive, it means something.
