Hi

Whenever I go into Itunes it attempts to downloads a whole list of files that my kids once 'purchased'.
Each time I have to cancel these downloads. How do I tell Apple that I dont want to download them at all anymore !

I don't think its possible from customer side. I have also experienced this problem in the past. I had a problem with one download and I had to ask the Apple rep to fix the issue from their side.

If you've upgraded to itunes 10.5 then I think it can be done by removing the app from purchased list.

Basically make sure you login with the correct account, then go the home page of the iTunes store and click on the purchased link (top right under the account name)

After this you select one of the main product category (music / movies / tv shows / apps / etc), and then find the offending "file", mouse over it and click on the x shown in the top left corner to remove.

Hopes this helps... let us know if it does, otherwise you will unfortunately need to download it at least once... (fyi the mechanism was built in to ensure that people received what they purchased, the function is pretty much irrelevant with iCloud where you are able to re-download any of your purchases).

This problem has been on iTunes for some time. I believe the Mac version has a function to stop downloads from automatically starting.

It's also been reported to Apple, without success.

I'm on a Mac and I'm not aware of any difference to the Windows version. I however as said think there's a possibility they have changed it since iCloud was released i.e. if something is missing you can always download again without any problems, hence the "ensured / forced" downloads are not necessary.

Sorry, I was so busy the last two days that I missed these replies. I'm going to try this when I get home as I sync with my home computer.
