So I've always kept itunes because my whole library was in there and it was easy. Today, I open itunes -it updates with that stupid apple itunes thing. Restart the computer, open itunes again - and the computer restarts itself (as in crashes, not nicely).

Now, for the 3rd time - I open Itunes...and my whole library is gone. The files are still on my C: drive, but the xml library file is missing.

So - itunes uninstalled. What program should I use to manage my music? WMP?

You know it yakes about a minute to get it to start rebuilding the library?

I know. But last time it did this, it deleted half the songs in half the albums. I hate itunes anyway. It doesn't work properly in Vista...always loads funny, like you see black and not the actual screen, doesn't let me write CD's and is generally annoying.

So..the question is...Real Player or WMP1!?

WMP, or winamp if you just want to listen to it..... dunno what the newer versions can do, but the classic version doesn't seem to be able to write cd's.. :D

Only tried Winamp so far but it seems cool and doesn't take years to convert files like iTunes. Huge bonus that I am not forced to download Quicktime and assorted other crap as well
