itunes Match or symfi or ?

So my music is on my pc, i use itunes, i have itunes on my phone with music, i have now discovered symfi which i have bought one month already and trying it out.

Itunes match - R250 year = R20 per month
Symfi is R60 per month

What can itunes match do that symfi cant do?

The only thing i dont like about symfi is you cant mix up your music...unless you download music

I can shuffle my play list so there is a nice mixture of music, with symfi, pick artist - play.

Anybody want to add their 2c?
 
Are you referring to Simfy?

Simfy you pay a monthly subscription and have access to their whole music library.

iTunes Match gives you advert free access to their iTunes radio service as well as replaces your non iTunes purchased music in your library with iTunes quality music and are available to download from the iTunes store over the cloud from any of you devices.
 
I prefer iTunes Match. If I was a huge music fanatic, then I probably would have subscribed to Deezer but iTunes Match suits me just fine.
 
Simfy is running a promotion for their 2nd birthday. 3 Months access for R2. At that price it's worth trying to see if you like it. For my own needs it is a perfect fit and I've been subscribed for more than a year already. It won't be ideal for everybody, though, so try as many services as possible and see what is best for you.

Not sure what you mean. Simfy is all about playlists. You create a bunch of playlists, add songs, start one and hit the "random" button. No need to download. I only keep one playlist downloaded on my phone for the occasion when I'm not connected. Works the same on mobile and desktop app. I'm on the "All Access" plan, btw. Might be that you are on something else?

Been looking at this as well but Soundcloud is working fine for me at moment. all my music is on Google drive as well. synced over everything. cant stream but thats fine for me.
 
I got simfy but the smartphone app sucks. I want to choose an artist and then it automatically generates a playlist with similar music, but I can't seem to do that.

I also have simfy. It's great if you know exactly what you want to listen to, or already have a large collection.
iTunes Match seems to have a similar problem, but I've never tried it.

However, I primarily use Rdio these days. It has featured that match music based on previous or current listening history. One thing I particularly like is that it creates a station for you, and you can choose how "adventurous" it should be, ie how familiar to music in your collection.
 
ITunes Match is great for storing your old music collection & freeing up disk space. I mostly listen to iTunes Radio and add stuff I like to iTunes Match
 
I use Simfy All Access and I really like it. I bought a three month voucher for R170 at the beginning of this year, which is good value, but have since racked up years for almost nothing. They used to have a promotion where you could get a free month for referring people, and I added 7 months like this. They currently have 3 month promo vouchers for R2, which are limited to one per person. The limitation didn't exist for the first few hours of the promotion though, and I loaded ten vouchers. I now have service until Aug 2017.

I'm using their Android app and I like it a lot. It is indeed a bummer that it doesn't have the radio feature, but it's not something I use much anyway.

The Simfy mobile apps don't have the radio facility present in the desktop apps. Randomising a playlist is a poor substitute.
 
Deezer is the best. 320kbps high quality sound and flow is great. The Here This view is the best between all the cloud music streaming services. It's really good in predicting what music you will like to hear. You get playlists and can see the top ones. 30 million tracks and HTML5. Pure win!

The lack of a desktop app put me off Deezer (Modern UI app doesn't count). It's pretty much a deal breaker for me. Also, Simfy being practically free makes it silly for me to consider the competition. R190 for 40 months is R4.75 a month.
 
Started using iTunes Match after seeing this thread.. it rocks socks.. like i can listen to all my music now finally yay! I was worried about the limit on number songs tho but thankfully im at +/-11k

Should have gone with Simfy. Song limit is closer to 20 million.
 
If you take iTunes Match will your music added always be in your library? Or do you have to renew to always have access to it? It would be good if it was like steam where you could just add your cds to it and it will remember.

Basically its like having your entire music library with you, always, making home sharing & device sync of playlists not used. In fact I think device sync of music get disabled. Now if u made home sharing work over a vpn and accessed if via phone that would be the equiv.. minus the higher quality stream/downloads.

From what i can tell it will auto decide what to store on your device based on play... not sure if it removes though.. You can also force it to pull a specific album or song when ever you want too assuming you have that in your library. if your library is less than 24k songs and you not interested in access to new music but rather your own stuff in a cloud like solution then this is ideal.. especially for people who do not have a machine which acts as server connected to net 24/7 (i read somewhere that u can trick the home sharing to work over a vpn).

24k songs is only around 100GB. What happens if your library is much larger than that? Why do you not have access to new music? This is starting to sound like a terrible service.

i have 70GB sorted music @under 12k songs so uhm.. u have poor quality then :P the idea is that itunes bought music does not count to this limit i.e. reinforcing/making itunes purchases the ideal.. You didnt think they provide this service just because..

you can or guess should think of this service as a cloud drive for your music(with a bonus of upgrading quality if less than 250kbps), so instead of updating it via google drive/one drive/icloud

ITunes Match storage only applies to songs not in the itunes catalogue.

So if u "buy" your album somewhere else , add to your library, and it's also available in the itunes catalogue, itunes will match it, ie give you the itunes version free

If itunes does not recognize the tunes, it then uploads this to your online library and this is what counts towards you allocated space
