iTunes Match

Hi all,

To my disappointement I was unable to activate iTunes match for my US iTunes account using my credits that I have from the pre-paid vouchers we typical use/buy. I also tried using a $30 voucher at the time of setting it up and still, it only topped up my account balance and continued asking for a US credit card.

So it seems for the time being that there is no way around this and that only having a US credit card will activate iTunes Match (pity!). If anyone ever manages to get past this, please do post here as I'm keen on getting iTunes Match set up. In my opinion, it's a brilliant offering.

Wanted to do the same, but alas, no US credit card. Hopefully the voucher will be valid soon.

iTunes Match Working

Ok, so I eventually bought a $25 pre-paid visa card from a site called 'buyfrompowerseller' and received my details within an hour (very professional) - paid $35 for it and yes I can moan about the 'admin fee' but R80 extra to get iTunes Match working is fine with me.

I updated my iTunes account with the details and click on the iTunes Match subscription. iTunes will take the money from the iTunes credit and will only charge your 'credit card' if you have no funds in your iTunes account. So I guess if you can buy a cheaper pre-paid American credit card then you might save on an unnecessary expense.

I'm currently running it and it's busy searching and matching songs in my library - taking a while.

So there you go - at last a workable solution for getting iTunes Match up and running in SA.

I used www.usunlocked.com to get a US Debit Card. Worked like a charm.

iTunes matched about 5500 about of about 7000 songs for me. I then deleted all of the matched tracks off of my computer and then re-downloaded them, effectively upgrading a load of crappy old 128kbps mp3s to 256kbps AAC files.

Well worth the $25!

How does the www.usunlocked.com work with uploading a ID for the unlocked card? Should I just get the card to sit on my account and use credit and finally is the website legit and effective. Saw something dodgy about needing minimum $51 on it for it to work.
