Can an Itunes SA account be converted to a US account with all current purchased apps being transferred?

Only if you can present Apple with proof of residence in the States. I tried this with Amazon (for Kindle purchasing purposes) and they demanded I fax them a copy of my new US ID and proof of my new US residence.
