I’m sure Cara is too attractive to be a troll, but her post calling for raised hands just raised a laugh and a shake of my head. So, she’s of the opinion iTunes sucks?

I agree with Cara, you understand, and also think iTunes sucks (albeit without the caps). It is an awfull piece of software. It does update too much, it’s bogged down by Apple’s DRM, you can’t buy music in SA and it’s integrated with OS X. There’s probably more to be added to Cara’s list.

On the other hand…

iTunes is always up to date, it protects the copyright owners and still DRM free music, it’s SA laws that forbid buying online music, and it is absolutely seamlessly integrated with the OS on my Mac – meaning Windows sucks.

There is no other piece of software that does what iTunes does. What podcatcher do you use? iPodderx? Juice? Sharpreader? Google Reader?

Windows Media player is for people who don’t like choice. Oh, and for people who obviously don’t like podcasts. And any Linux-on-the-desktop so-called solution is for guys with potato chips falling out of their neck-beards (thanx Merlin Mann).

The sad thing is that despite sucking, iTunes is probably the best music player for the *majority* of people (and I don’t count Ubuntu or drag-and-drop between devices as mainstream).

Yes, iTunes probably sucks. But it sucks all by it’s lonesome self.
