Its like the Aliens in X-Files. All the other episodes are brilliant, but really?
The all seeing, all thinking nemesis. Capable of predicting every single move he is doing and always one step ahead. He has followers everywhere, some so deep-cover that the Cylons are impressed. Whoo.....

Not one of those made my list. I was with OP, might still be right and it be a combination of both, but I have to admit the Red John episodes irritate me.(Spoils the show)

Ja - they have dragged it out just a little too much. Kinda like Monk: brilliant defective detective who could never figure out who whacked his wife - till the SPOILER ALERT final episode, when all the usual suspects had been eliminated /ALERT and it was just a quick affair to resolve it.
