I feel sorry for Amd really. Maybe Nvidia as well.

DirectX 11 graphics engine

*. New 2D graphics engine

*. Support for three video monitors
*. Memory overclocking limit was increased from 2,133 MHz to 2,800 MHz, and memory clock can be configured in 200 MHz increments now

*. Dynamic overclocking, allowing you to change the clock ratio on unlocked CPUs without needing to reboot the PC, and higher clock ratios (up to 63) available for unlocked CPUs

Igp with dx 11 and 3 monitor support lol
That's just half of its features. You can read the rest here

One Question:

I have Intel Core i7 2630QM (Second Generation).

How far is my i7 2630QM from this Ivy Bridge (I will assume it is Third Generation).

that's a laptop cpu. Upgrading a laptop cpu costs more than buying a new laptop almost.
So your answer is don't even bother plus 2nd generation is a different socket as well.
Sandy Bridge is 3rd generation. Nehalem 2nd generation

I also feel sorry for amd and the amd fanboys. Benchamrks and real world gaming don't lie. Intel is always on top and will always be. So this will be a nice cpu and will eat AMD for breakfast.

The Intel embedded GPU is still years away from even attempting to compete with AMD/Nvidia GPUs.

Intel is having trouble competing with AMD embedded GPUs, so AMD can still come back strong. In the multimedia showing AMD could well have a stronger showing if they could make a chip with an awesome GPU.

If you build a media PC the last thing you worry about is raw CPU power, it's about power consumption and GPU. If they can ship a CPU with a great GPU and low power, they can cater to that segment of the market at least.

Your CPU (2630QM) is a Sandy Bridge CPU, the only difference will be a die shrink and minor changes (tweaks really). Eg. they are the same generation architecture wise. However Ivy Bridge will be faster, Intel said something along the lines of 20% speed increase.
