So I have an iPad 3 and have kept it on 5.1.1 because I think my jailbreak and apps are more important than a simple visual update which is what iOS 7 looks like.
But i am now seriously considering updating to iOS7.
What I want to know is, will my old apps still work? I don't mind that 7 is not jailbroken yet, I already have all the apps I need and won't be downloading anything new for a while, and if I need it don't mind using the app store.
So, any advice? Should I rather stay on 5.1.1?

What are you using the jailbreak for? If you don't care about it then the answer is a definitive no, you should not stay on 5.1.1. More and more app developers are going to stop supporting anything lower than 7 going forward.

Upgrade now.

That jailbreak is only for app downloads. Also, what is the size of the update?

And my old apps, games etc, will still work (the ones I've downloaded via cydia and Vshare etc.)

Ok, thanks... I'll wait a while till I absoluetly need to update then.

I updated in favour of losing all my jailbreak stuff.. Glad I did it, I can last until an official jail break comes out! For me it was worth it, I simply asked myself how often do I REALLY use the jailbreaked apps and it came down to very little!

No your pirated ****e will not work with a non-Jailbroken iPad.

You'll need to pay for it like everyone else.

Unless you need the upgrade just stay on your current version.

My only reason to jailbreak was Winterboard and Summerboard... Was running custom themes and app icons. Haven't missed it one bit really. The dynamic themes take care of that.
I'm all for updating but then I haven't been relying in cracked apps for years now. Guess the OP will need to flip a coin.
