Anyone else experiencing issues with this device on the vodacom network?

1. Often incoming calls go straight to voicemail without ringing.
2. Sometimes dialing a number does nothing, waits a few seconds and goes back to the dialpad screen. Often takes 2-3 attempts for the number to dial and connect.

Running the latest firmware and have UMTS enabled.

Jasjar sucks - sorry not very helpful... I like the features, but downgrading the RAM on the IMATE to 64 (Jasjar) from 128 (O2k / XDAII) was just stupid. Did you have any problems on MTN? It appears to work fine on MTN as far as I have seen (for regular phone calls that is)...

Calls on my JasJar (also Voda + latest fw) have never been a slick experience. Cant say I've had much of 1. (that I know of), but a bit of 2. The worst for me is when you answer a call there is a 1-3 sec delay before voice is actually going through.

I gave up on using it as a phone a while ago ... still use my SE V800 for calls. Now I just view it as decent PDA that happens to have a 3G modem built in. The fact that it can sync directly to my Exchange mailbox/calendar/tasks etc. via WiFi or 3G still makes it very productive for me.

I have a i-Mate Jasjar for about 3 months now and I don't have any problems with mine.

It works like a charm. I've updated the Rom about a month ago when it came out and it's just running even faster than before.

Have you tried...

How does Skype run on yours after opening a few documents? Or has the upgrade sorted this problem?

Yeah Roman I'm thinking I might ditch it as a phone too and just use it as a mobile browser and PDA. Its becoming even more useless now that I've gone over to Macbook pro, since my appointments, contacts are sychable properly.

Piesang what area are you located? I just tried now 4 times in row to dial 121 and on the 4th time it went through. Aaaargh

KJAM has same problems as JASJAR

I am experiencing the exact same problems with my K-JAM. Incoming calls ALWAYS go straight to voicemail after 3 rings, while I often have to dial a number 3 times before it connects.

And another thing - my girlfriend has received about 20 copies of the same SMS I sent to her 2 months ago. It was longer than 160 charachters, so sent as 2 messages from my phone. It appears that whenever I send her SMS'es longer than 160 characters, she receives that old SMS.

Must be software problems? Probably will visit LEAF in Randburg and ask them to check it out.
