I have to decide between the Jasjar and K-Jam. I'm upgrading mid January 2006. The problem is I like the size of the K-Jam but it doesn't have 3G. The Jasjar has got 3G but at the rate that MTN 3G become available I don't know if it is going to make a difference. Will MTN 3G be more available next year?

Isn't that a no brainer? If you are signing for another 2 years you are really shooting yourself in the foot if you don't go for 3G. MTN will have done significant upgrades in the next year..and coverage will only increase...

I'm also upgrading, and I can't say I'm overly impressed with the 3G phones currently available...Let me know the outcome of your dilemma.

My 2c..

Both are awesome devices, personally I don't like using such small keyboards, but whatever floats you boat. On the 3G thing consider:
The K-Jam still has EDGE (about 160kbps / half 3G) and WiFi. So if you're around a hotspot you'll get faster than 3G, otherwise you'll still get reasonably good speed.

I read a comparitive review on these phones recently, and it comes down to what you want out of the phone. If you want a do-it-all phone, the JASJAR is your pick. If you are concerned about size, the K-JAM is the way to go. Both have amazing features, and the only real differences are 3G/EDGE, screen size and keyboard (most reviewers prefer the K-JAM keyboard).

I was in the same dilemma, but considering the prices MTNSP has, the JASJAR get my vote.
