Java vs C#

So...some interesting points here. first, mainframes, green screens????? Did they defrost you just now?? yay... LOL anyway, more serious, I'll be on the fence, and say either, personal preference, I like Java, taught myself a couple of years ago, after doing it as part of my diploma, and C#, during the course of the last year. Classes, inheritance, overloading, etc etc , curly braces and what have you. so, how do you guys get from one language and cross skill into another in the job market? Doesn't look like there is anything happen or anyone willing to do that, unless its inhouse for some dark and obscure reason. As things are at current, there is a shortage of Java and c#/.Net skills, so why is it so difficult to x-skill and start anew in another job. oK, yes, this is also a bad time of the year to so job search, will have to wait for Feb/March.

I don't think there is a shortage of Java or. Net developers, just a shortage of good developers.

java vs C#? Java runs on the JVM. hate it as you may, the JVM has a lot going for it.

The problem with Java is is that it has all these IBM okes that come wit it

Yes, Taylor Swift has beautiful legs

Bit thin for my taste. And the head (and the contents it comes with) just ruins the whole package. Not that I'd avoid coding in it if the opportunity calls.
