Java vs Python – South African salaries

It probably has more to do with industry than language. Python is being used more and more in the financial sector hence the salaries shooting up. Java is more a general language and so is used in a lot more mid tier industries and in web design and stuff which is paying less and less these days depending on the specialization.

I dont really understand why there would be any major differences in salary. If you know java you could pick up python relatively quickly.

I went from C# to python without too much difficulty.
