Hi all

I am looking for a hosting service provider that will enable me to host Apache Server, MySQL and Glassfish on a Linux machine. I am looking to teach myself JavaEE.

If you have enough space and RAM, why don't you rather install it in a virtual machine? It's free.

Or just install tomcat and MySQL on your local machine?

That is going to be a lot quicker toget up and running that having to create wars and then figure out how to deploy to these other services

Related to this, concentrate on spring rather than JavaEE. Spring is the now and the future of "enterprise" java.

If you need something local, have a look at a cloud server where you can load whatever you need on it.

I usually use http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html when I want a LAMP stack on my Windows machine and it should hopefully be relatively easy to install GlassFish on top of that (with the caveat that I have never installed GlassFish), so I might be talking .....

For the AWS option, I believe there are GlassFish AMI's available that should make it real easy to get started, but again note the caveat in the previous paragraph.
