I read up a few guys are having trouble with Jaxx Wallet. Lets all keep all hints and tips in here for future reference.

Resolved issue: I had a problem with Jaxx a few weeks ago where I Shapeshift some BTC to Golem. I contacted Shapeshift and Jaxx. It took about 2 weeks to resolve the issue. The problem got resolved by clearing the cache in the settings menu.

Unresolved issue: All my currencies in Jaxx are 0 values. All my wallets have the correct crypto values but R0.00. I have reset my cache but still stuck on 0.

So the developers say you can't deposit mining proceeds. My question is with mining pools such a ethermine. They don't deposit mining proceeds but pay out to an address when a threshold is reached. It should be ok to pay out to a Jaxx wallet then, no?

I currently use Jaxx and I used Shapeshift twice and I didn't have issues at all.

From the little that I understand the wallet will just get slower and slower to sync properly if it is non BTC mining payouts. BTC mining payouts (even from nicehash) you really shouldn't do, it literally will not show up unless you restore the wallet elsewhere. In other words it is deposited to the address, but Jaxx cant pick it up

Some people have reported being unable to access it, not sure if it was Bitcoin.

It seems pools like ethermine.org mine to their own wallet and then only transfer to an address once a threshold is reached. This should solve Jaxx's problem of not being able to handle multiple micro transactions from various addresses to various addresses if this is the issue. Guess I'll know soon enough.

It all depends, are they loading a single transaction with multiple inputs and outputs? If so, Jaxx won't pick it up

Well, got my first payout and it looks just like any normal transaction.

Been trying to shapeshift ETH to BTC since last night. Keep getting "Transaction Failed". Have reset cache. Tried via Android app as well as Chrome add-on. No joy.

Upgrade to Exodus. Install it in a VM on your PC, fire up when you need to transact. Less hassle.

There's no need to keep a wallet on your phone

/struts away from Jaxx crew :)

Just use Changelly. Much more reliable.

Anybody using the latest Jaxx 1.3.3? My Eth balance is zero but in Exodus shows as 0.000640772580991189. I don't know if this is their new rounding policy or a data error on their network. Bitcoin is correct at 8 digits.

It also keeps 2 processes open after exiting. That's a major security risk.

Can someone explain this to me please? Jaxx has so far made 4 Bitcoin addresses for me. I only receive in one of them though. I checked and rechecked all the transactions and this is indeed the case. But after sending 2 thirds of it to Luno some of it has now disappeared and landed up in one of my other addresses. How can it just move around without me doing anything?

Honestly I don't see that as a problem as anyone who can get access to your computer can do even more damage. It's more the fact how you can't turn off HD and manually generate addresses and now they want to force me to have my balance spread across multiple addresses which just complicates forks. Their excuse is that it would just complicate coding but honestly if they implement proper coding practice it's just a few extra lines.

I'm new to purchasing cryptos, but i've been lurking around for a while.

Yesterday, after purchasing BTC with luno, I transferred it to my jaxx wallet. From there I tried to shapeshift to ETH and ZEC using jaxx on my phone. After nearly 24 hours it is still saying I have 0 ETH and 0 ZEC in those wallets.

I have two different transactions that show up on in my transaction history, but neither is confirmed.

So my question is, is it normal for it to take so long for the conversion to take place?

BTW...in my settings, i'm using the "average" option for transaction speed.

The Average option normally takes an hour or so in my experience, but right now there is a major sell-off of BTC, so transactions are taking a lot longer.
