Have a Charge 3 that has a bit of static when the volume goes up. Apart from that in excellent condition. Anyone/anyplace in the Pta area that can repair this ?

Anyone know what could be the cause for the static?
Would it be worthwhile to fix? , if not im open for donations

Normally static noise when turning up volume is caused by the volume control needing to be cleaned with some contact cleaner the problem is you normally need to get to the back of the control and most of theses high quality units are difficult to open so best to find someone that works on that brand.

It's more of a clicking sound, so could be loose wire or speaker. Was also advised by Sound and Image in Menlyn to take it to Connoisseur...

So will prepare for the trek across the Jukskei ...

Will do... looking at their Google reviews they seem to be the best. Might have them take a look at the battery as well

Turns out that the battery is shot and will have to replace at least one driver, maybe both. Cost of that around R1k. They offered me an upgrade option to a Charge 4, which is good value. Kudus to Connoisseur Electronics for going the extra mile, and specifically to Gary
