JBS Cyberattack forces shutdown all company's US beef plants

Not good for the US as the country now could face a beef shortage too.
 
Russian actors are yet again responsible, allegedly.
Energy and now foodstuff... I wonder at what point this becomes an act of war?
At any rate, Biden will not be short of conversational material at the June summit with Putin...

Socialism needs to create an enemy, which does not really exist. Here in SA, it is Jan, Apartheid and it will always the remain the enemy. In the US they have targeted Russia to be the enemy. All blame will go to Russia. Not bad politics, bad running of the country and economy, rising inflation, riots, violence, crime.... what Biden and Co quickly forgot, when the 'fuel line crisis' happened, is that he was the one who closed down one company, leaving 16000+ people unemployed in the process and broke all America's capabilities of getting fuel through the lines.

USSR (and by extension, Russia) has never been friendly with the US. It has nothing to do with Biden, Trump or any of the recent presidents.

And somehow I doubt they also have nothing to do with the so-called 'hacks' either. This would have been an act of war on US soil. Nothing happens. Why? Because they are likely not involved. Just the 'enemy' for the socialist government.

Policy outlives presidents... that much is certain.
At any rate, it will give the Big Guy an opportunity to issue some strongly worded statements.

At this stage, it's the company that suspects Russian criminals are involved. The US government is acting on word received from the company.

My point is that this "cyber war", if there's any, is just an extension of the relationship between the 2 countries.

Yeah if it wasn't for all these leftist bs hacking scandals the Us and Russia would be great allies, they have so much in common in policy and outlook, they could renew their friendship that was going back decades before the socialists arrived on the scene.

Which brings us back to the top of the story and the “the equivalent of $11 million” wording used by JBS, as it hints that something other than fiat currency was used to satisfy whoever hit the company with ransomware. Perhaps the FBI will again be able to help? ®

R150million to unlock the ransomware, that's not pocket change.
How do they do the deal, in terms of when the unlocking and payment is done, surely they can't pay the scammers upfront trusting they will unlock?

What's the largest ransom paid for this kind of thing this far?

Career scammers like these would probably be as businesslike as possible to avoid tooany people getting involved. They'd conclude business as professionally as possible to build trust for the future missions...
