So what are the general thoughts on these vehicles.

I have an X3 but want to trade it for this.

Is it a good idea? reliable?

Interestingly I can find 2012 models with 5000km on the clock for 80 to 90k less than brand new.

Good to buy but it is a worry when the value drops so much in a couple of months.

I was looking the specs of the new grand cherokee 3,6V6 it seems well specced for what you pay seems good value but not sure on its reliability should be ok but from a resale value point of view consider the land crusier prado tx

Resale not very good.
But in general very good vehicles, make sure there is a maintenance plan 5yr/120k as servicing is expensive.

Yep, seems like good value for money but resale is a worry. The prado is 600K + though... a bit above my budget lol.

The maintenance plan on these "demo" vehicles are 3year 100 000 but can be extended. need to get cost of that as well.

just need to get rid of my x3 asap. bmw have been an absolute disaster. they have broken my car to the point of me not wanting to drive it anymore...

Very good deal, and they are extremely reliable. Just check your maintenance plan as said before... Happy offroading

Aren't these the ones that fall over a lot?

fall over a lot?

i have had it with bmw. pathetic pathetic service and arrogance to boot.

need to get this car fixed so I can trade it in asap..... feel like screaming..

major issues with the x3?

major issues with the x3?

There is a huge jerk and knock coming from the tyres / gearbox when accelerating. they say they cant do anything as the tyres arent bmw approved but there branch was the one who put the tyres on.

they broke my pdc.

they broke my radio, sent it for repairs and now only the rear speakers are working.

there are whole log of other things not working as well... all caused by their incompentence.

@bboy, interesting. they claim to have fixed it this year though. will have to go drive a couple and see...

I have had two.

The work well off road. Nice inside. Nice ride. Big.

Reliability is another issue.
Jeep dealers are more clueless than most.
Front discs get eaten quickly. Due in part to the weight. Not covered under maintenance plan.
Getting parts means waiting. They all come from the USA.

Resale can be problem depending on which model you buy. Some are impossible to sell.
