So, I am having a bit of trouble deciding which car to buy. I am in need of a biggish car of good quality as we have a baby coming. We also drive long distances a lot, with a load. I dont want a car with struggles to pull on the road, I like moving.
I like the Jetta, but I am a bit worried about the turbo charged engines. I had settled on a 1.4tsi, but a few people noted to me that the engines are problematic in the long run.
Hence I have tried to settle for a Polo 1.6 engine. I know these cars, I currently have a hatchback from 2007 and it still kicks ass on the road and very easy to look after. But the sedan is ugly and looks classless to me.
Then I came across a new option. Jetta 1.6 conceptline, same engine as the Polo sedan. My only worry is that the Jetta’s body maybe too big for the 1.6 engine. Does anyone know anything about these cars, particularly the Jetta 1.6 conceptline? Should I be worried about driving long distance with a load in this?

The 1.4 Tsi has more power(90Kw) and more torque that the 1.6 engine. So the size of the Jetta won’t be a problem for the 1.4.

My dad has the 2017 1.4 Tsi Sportline, and has no issues with it so far.
All his past VW cars were the 1.6 engine.

Isn't this Jetta poorly specced? Still a good car, just not a lot of kit.

It is, but the second hand car i am looking at has most of the stuff you find on a comfortline, all I care about is performance though

Test drive both.
You will find out that the 1.4TSi has more power than the 1.6.
I have owned a Polo 1.6 comfortline for over 10 years and a Jetta 4 1.6 comfortline for 14 years. That 1.6 engine doesn’t even compare to the 1.2 TSI Highline in terms of power.
